This includes after sale customer support. This is the point where many companies fail their customers. Unfortunately, products do fail from time to time and require warranty. One of the things we don't do is automatically assume you are wrong about a product warranty and become defensive. The very fact that you are not satisfied with the performance of the product, warranty or not, is of great concern to us. We work with you to determine how to best obtain the performance you want. We may ask you to do some simple tasks and procedures that will help us in this process. Your feedback is the biggest determining factor in our warranty process. We have put this document/page together in a effort to make the warranty process as clear as possible and potentially provide you with enough self testing information to help you determine if a warranty is even needed. Best of all, we will keep you informed with good communication throughout the complete warranty process. Back to Top NEXT Section The Basic Warranty A basic warranty is offered for most products we sell as follows: Non-Rechargeable Batteries (Alkaline, Lithium, etc.) All batteries are guaranteed to fit and work properly for 30 days from date of original purchase. *Rechargeable Batteries and Rechargeable Packs (NiCad, Lithium Ion, Etc.) All batteries are guaranteed to fit and work properly for One Year from date of original purchase, except some promotional batteries which are clearly market with less warranty.. Blemished laptop batteries with a manufacturer brand name on them are covered under our warranty. *Select batteries advertised on our website with 18 months warranty. Warranty on these products is 18 Months total warranty, with the initial 12 Months a free replacement period and the remaining 6 Months Pro-rated from the date of purchase. Proration is based from the current listed regular price. Any product sold which states "Manufacturers Warranty" or has been "recalled by the manufacturer" is excluded from this policy and the manufacturer must be contacted directly for replacement. For the warranty period stated above, as a retailer Pacific Battery Systems is limited to repair or replacement for warranty of products sold on behalf of the manufacturer of the products sold. Pacific Battery Systems is not the manufacturer of products and the warranty offered is given as a service to our customers at which point Pacific Battery Systems will work on behalf of its customers as an agent to obtain warranty from the product manufacturer. Excludes products with safety recalls issued by the manufacturer or agent of the product as noted below. The buyer/user agrees to hold harmless and release Pacific Battery Systems of any liability for any manufacturing defect, mishandling or misuse of the products, damage relating to installation of products, time spent for products or warranty, service or labor relating to products. This warranty may be revised over time without notification to you. In addition, this warranty includes all sections of this document and supplements, but does not replace the Buyer Agreement made when purchasing products from Pacific Battery Systems. Products must be found defective by Pacific Battery Systems and the manufacturer for warranty. We do not guarantee performance of the products we sell to any specific standard, other then what we consider to be acceptable performance for the application by our industry experience. Complete failure do to material or workmanship will be considered defective within the warranty period, if the product was not misused or damaged in any way by the user, equipment, application, or uncontrollable outside influences such as theft, nature, fire, flood or other. This warranty excludes products which have safety recalls or other recalls, in which case the product replacement is the exclusive responsiblity of the manufacturer or branded company issuing the recall. Back to Top NEXT Section Things you can try before asking for Warranty One common issue we see with rechargeable batteries, in particular laptop batteries, is proper break-in cycling. For LAPTOP batteries, we ask you to cycle the battery doing the following prior to warranty: Take the battery out by following your laptop manufacturers instructions and warnings. Wait 15 minutes, then reinstall it. Allow the battery to charge overnight or at least 10 hours. Use the battery at least three (3) times as usual with normal chages.. The battery has electronics in it that communicates with the laptop. This will teach the laptop the actual capacity of the battery and bring the battery up to full capacity. If you do not break in the new battery using this method, you can experience low run time and inaccurate battery information from the laptop battery monitor. In addition, this proceedure sometimes corrects problems with batteries that have already been in service. Other Rechargeable batteries other then laptops should be cycled several times prior to determining the actual performance of the battery. Most rechargeable batteries need several discharges and recharges to reach full capacity or run time. You would be surprised to find how much run time they can gain by cycling them. Coming Soon! Back to Top NEXT Section How to Get Warranty - STEP 1 Apply for a Warranty Return Goods Authorization Here (Required) Warranties are handled through our website only. If you call about a Warranty, you will be refered to this page. Once you apply for a warranty, you will be Emailed a Warranty (W-RGA) Return Goods Authorization within two business days, with instructions for return. A valid Email is required. This form makes warranty of your product very easy and simple. Just verify it is still under warranty prior to applying. Back to Top Go to STEP 3 Warranty Evaluation Process - STEP 3 We will inspect the product for any unusual damage. Damage that may cause the product not to perform voids the warranty. We base replacement of warranty product in part based on what information you can provide about the performance and problems you experience. If available, we will test the product in our facility for performance and warranty. In most cases, this evaluation process takes about 5 business days. Rarely, but at our discretion, we reserve the right to have the product returned to the manufacturer for further testing before determining if the product will be replaced. Back to Top Go to STEP 4 Warranty and Shipping of Replacement Product - STEP 4 If the product being warranted is determined by us to be defective, we will replace the product with the same product part number. At our discretion, we may replace the defective product with a different brand with equal performance, if the product originally purchased is no longer available. We may offer options for replacement of the defective product with a better performing product or brand at additional costs to the customer. Replacement of the defective product can be delayed by availability of a replacement product. We value you as a customer and we will always work hard too effectively communicate options to you that will make this process as easy and as quick as possible. We believe in creative solutions. We do not refund or credit products found defective under warranty after 30 days. We pay for shipping to you of warranty replacement product, limited to the least expensive option available to us.
